The Tamang Heritage Trail is both a superb introduction to Trekking in Nepal and a cultural adventure amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole country, with rich Tamang culture, amazing natural scenery and awesome mountain vistas.

The Tamang Heritage Trail is developed by the Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program (TRPAP) under the UNDP fund, Tamang Heritage Trekking is a newly developed trekking destination which was developed to distribute equal tourism opportunities among the poor rural communities living in the Rasuwa region. The region has the feel of little Tibet and trekkers who have gone there claim it is like trekking in Langtang 33 years ago. Since its development, the revenue and other income generated by the tourism activities in this region contributed directly to the local communities supporting the local livelihood, women’s empowerment, and environmental conservations.

The trek initially starts from Kathmandu from where a 132km stretch of road leads us to Syabru Bensi by either local bus or private car. From Syabru Bensi the route passes through Goljung, Gatlang, Chilime, Tatopani, Rasuwagadi and Briddim whilst ending back again in Syabru Bensi or Dunche.

As you will be here on your holiday, you can extend shorten or long your trek in Tamang Heritage Trail itinerary. You can extend shorten or long your trek as you wishAmong others, the opportunity to stay and explore the village of Gatlang remains one of the most fascinating highlights of this trip. With its unusual setting, exotic costumes, Tamang cultural shows, traditional handicraft, religious festivals, intriguing architect, Gatlang is sure to leave the visitors mesmerized. The viewpoint at Goljung (Danda) provides the opportunity to gaze beyond the Tibetan frontier with amazing mountain views that include the Sangen Himal, Paldor Peak, Langtang Lirung and the Lauribinayek range. As we head further we also have the opportunity to relax in a soothing natural hot spring, found in the village of Chilime, we'll take a bath even just for once is believed to cure many skin problems. From here we head to Nagthali Hill (3300m) followed by Thuman where we will explore century old monasteries and traditional houses adorned with rich wood carvings.  We can organize Tamang Heritage Trail -8 Days or less than 8 days trek.

In Gatlang and Briddim it is possible to stay at peoples homes. Travelers stay with the host families, eat traditional food and sleep in their home. The menu usually consists of rice, Tibetan bread, syakpa (Sherpa stew), potato and Tibetan tea. Visitors can also observe the local rituals and cultural practices with the host family and go on village walks to see the lifestyle and customs of the local residents.

The houses in these two Tibetan style villages are made of stone and slate roofs. The villages are living museums reflecting the traditional Tamang culture and lifestyle.

Most of our employees have been brought up along the Tamang Heritage Trekking Local Guide and we are proud to say that we try to arrange experts guide from this area.  We arrange the  Tamang heritage trail different cost all year round.
