Kanchenjunga Trekking

Heartily Welcome to Himalayan Unforgettable Adventure!

Only Everest and K2 are taller than Kanchenjunga, the massive block of rock and ice that straddles the border between Nepal and Sikkim in India. The foothills of Kanchenjunga have been opened to trekkers since 1988, but permit restrictions mean, that it is only possible to walk here as part of an organized camping trek. This means that the trails are blissfully free from the crowds found around Everest and Annapurna and in addition you’ll get to enjoy views to die for.

The Kanchenjunga area is homeland of the Limbu people, who speak a language related to Tibetan and follow a mixture of Buddhist, Hindu and animal beliefs.

There are two possible approach routes to Kanchenjunga. The (shorter) trek to south base camp and the (longer) trek to north base camp, both of which are outlined below. It is also possible to combine these 2 treks. Please contact us, if this is your wish.

Himalayan Unforgettable Adventures arranges the Kanchenjunga from September to November and from March to May.

All our guides and porters are experienced, licensed and covered by insurance.

Nepal is a safe and welcoming country to visit, and tourism supports both local economies and reconstruction efforts across the country from April 2015's catastrophic earthquake. Himalayan Unforgettable Adventure believes in giving back to its community and donates 10 percent of all our profits to committees within the Tamang region. Come and join us for a life changing experience !
