Yala Peak is a mountain in the beautiful Langtang area in Nepal. It is one of the Nepal’s easiest and lowest trekking peaks, just north of Kathmandu in the beautiful Langtang valley region. This 5,732m peak does not require special mountaineering experience. It is the perfect “first” peak in the Himalayas and will treat climbing beginners and experts to stunning views.

From Kathmandu we will go on a scenic drive to Syabru Besi, the starting point of your trek. From here the ascending trail will lead us through a variety of small villages and tracts of dense forest. It becomes a pleasant walk through trees where Langur monkeys frolic, passing a slice stream and small waterfalls. On the way to Kyangjin Gompa the trail climbs gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens out and the views become more extensive. From Kyangjin Gompa we will trek to Yala Base Camp along a rocky glacier trail. Take in the awe-inspiring views of Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Yala peak and other majestic mountains surrounding us. On the Yala glacier you will receive an ice and snow training in case you don’t have previous experience. The training includes a briefing, demonstration and very basic climbing training about how to use climbing equipments, like crampons, jummer, ropes, climbing boots, snow bars, knots, etc. On summit day we will have an early start. At the summit you will be stunned by the splendid panoramic views of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Langtang Lirung and many Tibetan mountains. After enjoying the beauty of the scenery we will then descent back to base camp and retrace your steps back to the Syabru Bensi.
